THE PASTOR'S BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Aaron R. Jones serves as Senior Pastor of the New Hope Church of God.
Pastor Jones is a certified Pastoral Counselor with International Association of Christian Counseling Professionals (IACCP). He has over 10 years of experience in family, pre-marital, marriage, and personal counseling. He is Executive Vice President of the National Bible College and Seminary. Pastor Jones is an Ordained Bishop with the Church of God Denomination based in Cleveland, Tennessee.
Pastor Jones has a passion for outreached ministries. He has over 15 years of outreach experience. He believes the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) is the true mission of the church. As a licensed Evangelist and Missionary with the United Holy Church of America, he has served as Director of Evangelism and a District Field Worker.
He has ministered with the Outreach for Christ Prison Ministry at the D.C. Correctional Facility for men. He has also ministered at the J.B. Johnson Nursing Home and served as a Chaplain at the Washington Home and Hospice Center.
Being obedient to Timothy 2:15, “Study to show thyself approved…” Pastor Jones received a Doctorate (summa cum laude) in Theology and Pastoral Counseling from Life Christian University; a Doctorate in Christian Counseling from American Christian College and Seminary; a Master of Divinity from National Bible Seminary; a Master of Christian Counseling from Logos Christian College and Graduate School; and a Bachelor of Church Administration from the National Bible College.
Pastor Jones is a certified Evangelical Training Association Teacher. He is a member of the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation and a chaplain with the Church of God Chaplains Commission in Cleveland, Tennessee.
Pastor Jones has published three books that provide a biblical foundation for Christian doctrine and discipline: How the Holy Trinity Communicates to Mankind, Eight Effective Keys to Personal Evangelism, and Equipping the Church for the Harvest.
Pastor Jones not only serves God, but his country as well. He has served over 20 years in the Armed Forces. He is a retired Chaplain with the Army National Guard. He answered the call when needed in combat by participating in Operation Noble Eagle (2003) and Operation Iraqi Freedom III (2005). While serving in Iraq, He was assigned to the 278th Regimental Combat Team of Tennessee.
Pastor Jones is happily married to the former Sharon Russell of 13 years. He sincerely believes without her love, support, and encouragement, many of his goals would not have been accomplished.
